LogLogic has updated its data structuring software, promising improvements to the way it stores and organises information.
LogLogic 5 has been updated with compliance and security in mind, and the firm said that administrators could use it to oversee data collection, storage and processing, which can often get overlooked.
"Large enterprises have a huge challenge in gathering, storing and processing data from their IT infrastructure," said Guy Churchward, LogLogic chief executive.
"They have widely distributed, complex systems that are constantly changing, yet still need to meet compliance mandates, improve their security stance and understand the workings of their IT operations.
He added that LogLogic 5 helps companies to manage all data across all devices, regardless of whether they're physical, virtual or cloud-based.
LogLogic said that companies often have a range of in-house security and compliance systems, which can be used to oversee different analytics tools, such as security information and event management, service level agreements, and network monitoring performance.
However, information is often duplicated and rarely shared, according to LogLogic, which warned that this exposes firms to gaps in their knowledge, and could leave them open to compliance issues.
New features in version 5 include centralisation, encryption and compression, each of which should help to speed up data gathering, remove network bottlenecks, and reduce duplication and network chatter, the firm said.
LogLogic claimed that information can be taken from almost any device under the firm's Universal Collection Framework.
The software includes Log Labels, an enterprise-class data description system for structuring text-based information in a usable format, and an improved user-centric interface which should make management easier and data more visible.
