Web hosting provider The Planet announced it has added the Xeon 3210-SAS servers, which includes 146GB hard drive and 2GB RAM, to its line of Planet Alpha's Ready To Go Servers.
The server addition follows last week's launch of the company's new Planet Alpha Dedicated Servers and Planet Northstar Managed Hosting divisions, which enable customers to choose from self-managed dedicated hosting, self-managed with optional services or a fully managed hosted solution.
To coincide with the addition of the Xeon 3210-SAS servers, The Planet is including the latest version of the CentOS-5 operating system on all Ready To Go Servers for free.
Customers will also have the option to run their boxes with or without the cPanel-brand control panel.
"Our rapid server-provisioning time is one of the chief reasons people choose The Planet for their hosting solutions," says Urvish Vashi, The Planet's director of product management.
"The combination of our vast inventory and automated provisioning system allows us to make servers available in just one hour. By expanding our line of popular Ready To Go Servers, our customers have even more options when they require a high-performance box that must be up-and-running quickly."
The Planet is also offering select Ready To Go Servers, including the Xeon 3040-SATA and Xeon 3210-SATA, the Dual Opteron 265-SATA and Dual Xeon 2.8 IDE, priced from $149 per month.
The Planet provides on demand IT infrastructure solutions, hosting more than 22,000 small- and medium-size businesses and 7.6 million websites worldwide.
Meanwhile, The Planet Alpha division offers a wide range of self-managed dedicated servers and advanced services backed by around the clock support.
