ServerCentral sells WingSix to UK-2
Data centre solutions provider ServerCentral announced on Tuesday it has completed the sale of its WingSix hosting brand to UK web hosting provider UK-2 Group.
The transfer will be immediate and transparent to WingSix customers. The WingSix brand will continue to be marketed and positioned as a high-end hosting service focused on customer service, says UK-2.
"WingSix customers have intense loyalty to the brand, due to the excellent service they consistently received," says Marc Bollinger, UK-2 general manager for WingSix. "We're excited for the opportunity to continue the outstanding service and support and further develop the WingSix brand."
ServerCentral has offered hosting services under the ServerCentral name since 2000, then consolidated its hosting assets under the WingSix brand in 2005.
Jordan Lowe, president of ServerCentral, says he is confident that UK-2 is the right fit for WingSix customers.
Following the company's thorough review of all of its options, ServerCentral decided that UK-2 offers a "high standard of care in customer service, and a local Chicago-based team."
WingSix says it supports thousands of web hosting, reseller, and virtual private server customers in 50 countries around the world, including content delivery companies, web hosting and application service providers, hardware vendors and enterprise-level clients.
UK-2 Group provides domain registration and hosting services to customers through its portfolio of hosting brands - UK2.net, US2.net and Resell.biz. The group is also a major shareholder in the merged Redbus Interhouse and European data center provider Telecity Group.
