Data centre services provider n|Frame will be hosting a free Webinar entitled "Complicated Equation: Facility Power + Cooling = Uptime," to help businesses deal with the rising cost of data centre energy and cooling.
On Wednesday, September 10, at 10 a.m. EST, Indianapolis-based n|Frame's webinar promises to simplify the equation, providing proof that technology and business professionals can find solutions to their data centre energy and cooling needs.
Organizations are increasingly outsourcing their internal data centres to commercial providers because of skyrocketing cooling and energy prices, and increasing energy demand, n|Frame stated on its website.
"According to AFCOM's Data Centre Institute, power failures and limits on power availability will interrupt data centre operations at more than 90 percent of all companies over the next five years," n|Frame chief operating officer Robert J. Alcorn said in a statement. "Businesses can't take this chance, which is why IT and business professionals should arm themselves with the latest information about data centre power needs, back-up systems and redundant heating and cooling systems."
According to the latest figures from the US Energy Information Administration, the average price per kilowatt hour has risen from 6.57 cents in 1990 to 8.90 cents in 2006. n|Frame's home state of Indiana, however, records a more modest increase from 1990's 5.36 cents per kWh to 2006's 6.46 cents.
The September webinar promises to tell attendees how to determine the power and cooling needs of their facility and how to calculate the "true costs" of managing and maintaining a scalable, "always-on" facility.
