Customers on Virgin Media's cable network in Knowsley near Liverpool were left without service for approximately two hours yesterday after both the operators main and backup power supplies were knocked out.
Both television and broadband services were taken out and VM has since apologised for the problems, the cause of which has yet to be fully identified. VM also suffered a four hour outage on its blueyonder e-mail platform yesterday afternoon. This problem has now also been resolved.
