Verizon obtains certification from leading authority
Verizon announced that their Business managed hosting centers received certification by a leading authority. It came in compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standards for information security management controls and processes.
A Verizon facility in the U.S. and one in London – called Smart Centers – also successfully completed the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification awarded by BSI Management Systems.
Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is an internationally recognized information security management system (ISMS) standard.
“This certification demonstrates Verizon Business’ continued dedication to providing highly secure managed hosting environments,” Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Business, said in a company press release. “This achievement further underscores the Verizon Business commitment to world-class standards for safeguarding enterprise customers and their businesses.”
The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification includes on-site assessments and encompasses security policies, organizational security, asset classification and control, personnel security, physical and environmental security, systems and network security, access controls, systems development and maintenance, business continuity management, and compliance.
