UK ISP Tiscali has been warning its customers about some of the problems they could experience when adopting Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system. Several other providers, including Virgin Media, have had to issue notices.
Despite the problems, Microsoft's new operating system continues to literally fly off the shelves and has already outsold Windows XP's opening launch period. Much of this may be down to volume licenses and new PC purchases, yet ordinary retail sales have also been good.
Much as we've always said, it's better to wait until Microsoft has issued Vista with its first 'Service Pack' during the summer before adopting. Still, provided you can get around the compatibility problems and don’t mind having to upgrade (Vista is a resource hog) then it’s not a bad OS, although it’s not an especially good one either.
