ISP TalkTalk increases UK broadband and voice prices

UK ISP TalkTalk ( The Carphone Warehouse ) has issued a brief market update about several forthcoming price adjustments to its broadband and voice products. The changes, they claim, are necessary to help compensate for BT's recent price rises, which TalkTalk got frustrated about earlier this month (original news).

From 1st April 2009 line rental will rise from £10.50 to £11.25 per month, call connection fees should increase to 8p and chargeable daytime call costs will hit 4.5p per minute. Meanwhile, from 2nd June, there will be a £5 penalty for any broadband user that exceeds their monthly download usage allowance.

However there are some benefits to be had, with 0870/0845 numbers now being included for free with inclusive minute call plans alongside the 1GB online backup service and parental controls. The Security Booster add-on will also be reduced in price to just £2 extra per month.
