Web hosting always comes down to fundamentals. Disk space, bandwidth, price—absolutely. Customer service, definitely. Linux vs. Windows, inevitably.
It was quite a refreshing to hear and read about Netfirms finally getting Linux and Windows together in one happy little web hosting account.
Jason Matheson, Product Manager for Netfirms sums it up well: “There’s always been kind of a technology in-fighting between the open source Linux community, which kind of leads the way in web hosting, and then you got Microsoft nipping at their heels and trying to eat into the market a bit. We’ve removed that from the industry a bit. There’s no right technology anymore. They’re both right.”
