UK-based Web host UK-2 announced that is has acquired Chicago, Illinois-based Web hosting services provider midPhase Services Inc.
The acquisition continues UK-2’s expansion plans. The company acquired another US hosting company, Stargate, earlier in the year. UK-2 will continue to operate midPhases’s various brands. It will not integrate them into any of its existing brands.
“We are extremely happy to announce our acquisition of midPhase,” Ditlev Bredahl, UK-2’s CEO, said in a statement issued by the company. “It is the next step towards achieving our ambitious growth strategy and the continued international expansion of UK-2 Group.
This acquisition now makes UK-2 Group one of the largest international hosting companies, which will allow us to have a hugely positive impact on the marketplace.”
“(midPhase co-owner) Zak (Boca) and I are both very happy to announce the handover of our shared and VPS customers to UK-2.
We’re very happy to have been able to reach a deal which results in minimal disruption to our customers,” Dan Ushman, midPhases’s co-founder and president, added in the same statement.
