AT&T ranks high in hosting report

Telecommunications provider AT&T announced on Friday that its portfolio of managed web hosting services received high rankings across the board in a recent product assessment by research firm, Current Analysis. Current Analysis gave AT&T's managed web hosting services its highest rating in two out of five customer buying criteria that included applications support and business continuity services. AT&T says its services were also ranked highly in categories that covered operating system and server platforms supported, service level agreements and supplemental services. The report notes AT&T's recent acquisition of USinternetworking and the addition of AT&T Southeast as key factors in enabling AT&T to increase its focus in the managed application space and to tap new domestic markets for hosting services. It also credits AT&T's ability to support these services due to its 32 global Internet data centers - with plans to expand to 38 by the end of 2007 - providing it with an advantage in deploying applications worldwide, says the analysis firm. "AT&T provides an excellent value that delivers the range of services that enterprises need in order to run their businesses effectively, backed by the quality that customers have come to expect from a provider such as AT&T," says Counse Broders, research director at Current Analysis. "AT&T's broad set of hosting solutions makes it easier for customers to offload core IT management tasks and redirect internal resources to areas of higher business value." Source: The WHIR News
