DreamHost denies cybersquatting suit
Web hosting provider DreamHost (www.dreamhost.com) has denied reports of a cybersquatting lawsuit against the web host, following a report by TMZ.
On Saturday, TMZ reported that Mel Gibson's girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva filed a lawsuit against the web host in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The lawsuit names "John Doe-1 d/b/a osksanagrigorieva.com and New Dream Networks, LLC, d/b/a dreamhost.com" as the defendants.
The suit accuses the defendants of cybersquatting after it registered OksanaGrigorieva.com and launched a somewhat official website on her behalf.
The website has since been shut down.
DreamHost says that while it is unable to comment on specifics, it can confirm that it has not seen or been directly served with a lawsuit, as of Monday afternoon.
The web host also adds that Grigorieva's attorney had likely already gained control of the domain registration from one of its customer by the time the TMZ report surfaced.
The lawsuit can be viewed in its entirety here.
No responsibility can be taken for the content of external Internet sites.
