Sunrise period of .CM domains to start this month with general registrations starting on the 15th of November.
NETCOM.cm, the official registry in charge of the Country Code Top Level Domains of The Republic of Cameroon, proclaimed today that it will launch second-level .cm domain name registrations on October 15, 2008.
The company articulates that the launch campaign will commence with a short sunrise period to give holders of national trademarks opportunities to protect their brands online. It adds that following this period is the general registration, starting November 15, allowing the general public to register sought-after .CM domain names.
Based in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, NETCOM.cm Sarl was founded in early 2008 as a proud partner of ANTIC -- The Information Technology Regulator for Cameroon. Mr. Moustapha Saya Kaigama, president of NETCOM.cm Sarl, commented: "After years of struggling with the technical hassles, we're so excited to announce that now NETCOM can offer .COM.CM, .NET.CM and .CO.CM to businesses and individuals throughout the world."
"We would like to take this chance to thank our three partners for the great efforts they made to NETCOM in the past few months: ANTIC -- National Agency for Information Technology and Communication (ANTIC); Instra Corporation -- our honored Validation Agent for Sunrise Application and our very first Registrar; and CoCCA -- our backend Registry Service Provider," said Mr. Kaigama.
