The Government has today announced the team who will be put in charge of central government IT.
John Suffolk, Government CIO shall be heading up the team and will take responsibility for the government's overall IT strategy, the G-Cloud project and anapplication store.
Bill McCluggage is to become the deputy CIO and director of the IT strategy and policy while Rachel Gentry, who has worked on IT policy since June 2009, will be his deputy.
Lesley Hume, the former IS director at Atkins, has been placed in the position of director of shared ICT infrastructure. She shall oversee a team of five, including deputy director of IT service delivery, Neill Goulder and John Stubley who will become the deputy director of public service network programme.
Finally, the cabinet office has announced that Chris Chant will be moving from the department of environment, food and rural affairs to become director of the government cloud programme. He will work alongside Andrew Tait as the deputy director of data strategy, G-Cloud and the app store.
