Verizon supports broadband measure

Web hosting provider Verizon announced on Friday it now supports the California Broadband Task Force's measure for 'next-generation' networks, as it anticipates future fiber, wireless and broadband business challenges.

Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.

The California Broadband Task Force has issued its report to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the state Legislature.

The report requests that public officials and industry leaders help maintain the state's leadership position by building out "next-generation" broadband infrastructure, developing uniform permitting standards, stimulating more widespread adoption of technology, fostering innovation and collaboration, encouraging educational opportunities in technology and creating a statewide e-health network.

"The California Broadband Task Force report makes it clear that we need bold leadership in the public and private sectors to ensure we keep pace with our competitors in the global economy," says Tim McCallion, president of Verizon West Region.

"Verizon has risen to that challenge by building the United States' only widespread all-fiber-optic network and the nation's most reliable wireless broadband network. Verizon is the broadband company."
