BT customers hit by billing error
Customers of BT have had their accounts incorrectly debited following unspecified server problems with its online billing system. It's claimed that the problem has only impacted a "small number" of people, although that could mean anything from ten to ten thousand with such a large operator.
BT claims that the issue should be resolved within the next few days and that affected customers are covered by a 'Direct Debit Guarantee'. In other words, users are entitled to a full refund because the operator failed to give them prior notice of the amount(s) to be removed.
