Businesses 'can save money' by going green
A business will be able to save itself some money by making some environmental improvements, one firm has advised.
Business Link claims that cutting costs is one of the major benefits for companies when it comes to making the decision to go green.
The firm described how one engineering company in Southampton was able to identify £6,000 worth of savings that could be made by employing a switch off campaign.
Erica Russell, a Business Link advisor, said that the initial implementation of environmental improvements does not have to be expensive.
"Things like basic insulation, something that anybody can do, that's something that there is a lot of funding around for," she said.
Ms Russell added that there is "an enormous amount of information on energy saving, cost saving, waste saving, all sorts of different things".
According to Startups' website, businesses cut their energy bills by 20 per cent if they turn off lights and computer screens in the evening.
