Businesses in the UK have a good attitude towards the environment, it has been claimed.
Following the EU announcement last week that its member states should cut carbon emissions, UPS has stated that businesses have begun to address environmental concerns and are cutting their own emissions.
Research conducted by the parcel service encompassed a survey of 1,451 European business leaders and showed that 43 per cent felt that the government should set environmental standards in industry.
Richard Currie, spokesperson for UPS, commented that many businesses are willing to adapt their working practices in order to tackle environmental problems such as climate change.
"The majority of the senior business people in the UK? believe that environmental concerns are serious and are here for the longer term," Mr Currie added.
The UK was voted the least environmentally-friendly country in Europe in the poll, however, whereas Sweden was seen as the most environmentally-friendly.
