Under the bonnet
eCloud Flex's foundations are built on enterprise-level hardware, while UKFast's superfast network and wholly owned data centres are the backbone of the platform. This, combined with the multi-pool architecture of OpenStack, allows you to dip - or dive - into the different areas of the environment as you require.
Software Defined Network Pool
With the eCloud Flex Network Pool you have the ability to dynamically and programmatically create and modify VPNs, a load balancer and mapped IPs on the fly, as demand and requirements change. It is at this layer that your front-end traffic is processed and handed over to the specific projects for firewall inspection as internal IPs.

Ceph Storage Pool
All data is safely stored in the Ceph Storage Pool. These storage servers are busy servicing your project's disk I/O demands, whilst maintaining integrity of the data and replicating it three times inside the pool. This ensures it is resilient against multiple disk failures and even multiple server failures.
