Timpson is a 150-year-old family-run business providing a range of services including shoe repairs, key cutting and engraving throughout the UK with 2,000 owned stores. The Timpson Group owns Johnson and Jeeves dry cleaners and has expanded into photo services with hundreds of Max Speilmann, Snappy Snaps™ and Tesco Photo franchises throughout the country.
Timpson needed a hosting provider to support hundreds of photo service websites, one for each of its independently-run franchises. With the demand for uploading photographs from mobile phones increasing, the solution had to be scalable and flexible to ensure each store is able to download and deliver photo prints within an hour. The solution also has to handle huge volumes of traffic, with Tesco Photo seeing more than half a million visitors each month.
UKFast built a bespoke solution to best support Timpson’s wide variety of websites, with a combination of dedicated servers and its high-performance eCloud® Hybrid solution. To ensure top-levels of security, Timpson enlisted the help of UKFast’s sister-company, Secarma to carry out penetration testing on its Tesco photo sites and provide infrastructure assurance.Download Case Study
