The Challenge 

UKFast are looking for a highly talented Technical Copywriter whose skills and experience will help elevate our product positioning to our customers, prospects and partners. Reporting into the Head of Content, the Technical Copywriter will play a major role in taking UKFast on an exciting business transformational journey. 

The marketing team is well positioned to significantly contribute to the company’s next phase of growth. Our ultimate success as a business (and marketing team) depends on the development of high-quality technical content that is not only differentiated and engaging but also encourages our customers and prospects to take action.

The Technical Copywriter will partner closely across the business with technical stakeholders and our product groups to develop high quality content that resonates with our chosen target audiences.  You will have exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to develop messaging that succinctly positions the UKFast product set.  You naturally enjoy making the complex simple.      

The copy and content that you will produce will continually raise the bar in terms of our go-to-market communications, significantly improving the performance our new business and retention campaigns, our digital marketing channels and most significantly the UKFast Website.  You will be naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand content metrics and performance, adjusting your plans as required for maximum impact.  In doing so, you will need to demonstrate a strong customer perspective and think “outside in” rather than “inside out”.

What you will do 

  • Own the development of our technical content across the company including but not limited to: product definitions, technical whitepapers, partner led content, thought leadership, customer references, sales readiness
  • Work cross functionally, aligning with the needs of our key stakeholders in Product, Technical and Commercial teams
  • Partner within the marketing function to produce technical content that can be used in new business and retention campaigns, digital marketing channels (Email, PPC, Social, Display) and most significantly our company website
  • Continually track and measure the impact of our content, adjusting the plan as required
  • Ensure that our content is feeding our marketing funnel and driving engagement across multiple channels, driving impact and commercial outcomes
  • Work closely with our chosen marketing agencies to ensure that our technical messaging and positioning is consistent and impactful
  • Utilise customer insight, intelligence and data to continually evolve the quality of our technical content
  • Support the work around technical audience persona development which will allow us to truly demonstrate customer empathy and understanding  

What you will bring 

  • At least 5 years of experience of technical copywriting – ideally in the B2B space (A technology background would be highly advantageous)
  • The ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work at speed without compromising quality
  • Accuracy and efficiency at task management, and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to translate data and insight into content marketing
  • A fail fast mentality and the ability to test, learn, iterate and adjust a marketing strategy
  • An outcomes focus – tying marketing execution into business outcomes
  • A customer obsession - diving into understanding pain points and turning that understanding into actionable content, putting the customer at the centre of our marketing and content strategy
  • A deep understanding of the need to develop differentiated copy and content for individual channels e.g. web, long form, short form, video, social, PPC etc.
