We are seeking an experienced and collaborative individual to support the growth UKFast Enterprise and Public Sector teams.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales team, System Architects and Engineers, this role will play a key role in leading the bid development process including the drafting of bids and proposals and associated documents for the large-scale and more complex submissions.  Taking responsibility for writing technical documentation about the solutions and services provided by UKFast to support the design, build and ongoing support of systems and supporting the submission of documentation for external assessments such as certification, accreditation and compliance with standards and regulations.

We need an exceptional, persuasive and versatile writer, with a high degree of attention to detail – drafting, editing and proof-reading bids, technical documentation and supporting material will be a key responsibility. Strong knowledge and prior experience of designing and drafting of large-scale technical bids for submission to large corporate and government organisations is essential. Previous experience in the context of information technology and specifically cloud computing or information security will be considered an asset. Must have a proven ability to work to rigid timelines and work well under pressure. In many situations, you could be working on multiple bids at the same time and, therefore, multi-tasking and workload management is a crucial skill required for this role.

What will their responsibilities be?

  • To support the end-to-end management and ownership throughout the entirety of the bid lifecycle, working closely with relevant teams to draft compelling narratives and develop associated documents including budgets in partnership with the Sales team, ensuring that deadlines are met, and submissions are compliant, well written and coordinated in a timely manner.
  • Support any required due diligence procedures for submissions in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
  • Review the proposal submission against requirements, for quality and accuracy as part of a team.
  • Working with Senior Management Team to develop the processes for creation, review and approval of technical documentation and proposals.
  • Work with the Enterprise technical teams and Public Sector team to create technical documentation of the design, configuration and support processes of information security and cloud technology solutions.
  • Supporting the security and compliance teams in the creation and submission of documentation required to satisfy security compliance, standards and regulatory requirements and certification such as Cyber Essentials and G-Cloud submissions.

What skills do they need to have?

  • A post-graduate degree level qualification in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive track record in creation of technical documentation.
  • Proven track record of developing successful proposals.
  • Comfortable with reading and analysing requirements documents and system designs for complex ideas, developing them into well-presented, persuasive pitches.
  • Strong project management skills, able to oversee multiple projects and prioritise as necessary.
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to write coherent and well-develop proposals and submissions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; fluency in English is essential.
  • A solution-focused approach and the ability to make objective decisions under pressure will make you a success in this role.
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance (resident in the UK for 5 years)

Desirable skills and experience for the role (bullet points)

  • Further-more a general understanding of cloud technologies and or information security would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience of Public Sector standards and regulations, and/or working with large corporate organisations will be a advantage.
