The Opportunity

Your goal is to bring exciting new technical and digital talent into UKFast.  Working with the hiring communities to understand the key skills and types of people we need to make our business successful. You’ll use your creative sourcing skills to identify, attract and engage top talent, who align with our culture and values. You keep our selection and assessment tools are current, relevant, and robust to sort the brilliant from the average. You will execute a seamless transition from offer to on-boarding – they are not a quality hire until they are in post, happy, and performing! Whatever the outcome, you make sure every person who takes part in our recruitment process has the best experience possible – they become a brand advocate.

What will I be doing

  • Proactively create talent pipelines through cost-effective direct sourcing channels 
  • Achieve and exceed agreed KPIs and SLAs – always looking for that next goal! 
  • Explore new tools and innovations to keep one step ahead in our search for great talent 
  • Screen and assess initial applications – make life easier for the manager 
  • Coordinate and organize the full recruitment lifecycle  
  • Keep candidates engaged and updated - provide real and constructive feedback 
  • Create a great experience for all candidates from point application through to outcome 
  • Drive improvements to the process and introduce new initiatives – we want to be at the forefront of talent acquisition   
  • Be knowledgeable, be helpful and be supportive to candidates & colleagues 
  • You are the expert so lead and guide the managers through the recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, assessment, and interviewing 
  • Produce meaningful data to monitor success, trends, progress & ROI – then share it with the business 
  • Don’t forget your wider HR colleagues keeping them fully updated on talent activity and challenges 
  • Creating exciting adverts which are relevant and appealing to the audience – no templates please! 
  • Work within legislation and employment law  
  • Be a team player supporting others when they need a little help 
  • Building the brand – work with the business and marketing to create compelling attraction and engagement messages and collateral 
  • Active on social media, on and off-line channels to maximize networking opportunities 

Success in this role looks like

  • Meeting KPI targets set e.g. sourcing channel split, cost per hire, time to hire, conversions 
  • Meeting SLA’s for core processes e.g. recruitment and onboarding 
  • Tracking quality of hire for new teammates 
  • Candidate and manager experience e.g. feedback and other metrics including time candidate in process & time to hire  

What will I bring to the role

  • Experience sourcing tech and digital talent in an agency or in-house TA team - you know how and where to find them 
  • Expert user of LinkedIn Recruiter and other similar sourcing/CRM tools 
  • Extremely tech-savvy with exposure to applicant tracking systems, social media, and networking tools 
  • Excellent networker and relationship builder – people know you and trust you 
  • Thrives working in a challenging and rapidly changing environment 
  • Highly organised with excellent time management 
  • Team player with a flexible approach – if one of your teammates needs help you are there 
  • Confident, able to work on own initiative and take responsibility 
  • Strong communicator both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail 
  • Good understanding of employment law and how it relates to recruitment 
  • Exposure to assessment tools i.e. competency-based interviewing, psychometrics, etc. 
  • A sense of fun – the only way to deal with the highs and lows of recruitment! 

Where and How can I develop from this role

As UKFast evolves, so does the Talent team, as it’s our role to bring the right skills and people into the business so we continue to be successful. The team is developing to meet the needs of the business – we’ve introduced more initiatives like digital on-boarding, assessments, employer brand, etc. so there are opportunities to develop broader talent skills and become a subject matter expert. Or maybe the next move is a step up as a senior TA Specialist and even aim to be the Manager one day!
