UKFast is currently looking for a Head of Data and Insights to drive our team of analysts and BI developers in serving high quality insight to the business, and help push UKFast’s broader objectives to improve the quality and architecture of its data.
Our Data & Insights team is responsible for working collaboratively with stakeholders across business to identify and define questions which need data-driven answers, and designing and building reports to provide those answers in a timely, accurate way. It also performs bespoke, one-off analyses as required to support key decisions.

Sales & Leads
UKFast believe in building powerful, simple, automated, timely MI, to empower our business functions to make great decisions and manage its operations effectively. As part of managing UKFast’s MI, you will coordinate the effort to continuously improve it, with a focus on automation, simplifying and streamlining. You will have the opportunity to decommission and/or replace MI which is sub-optimal for its purpose, and build new MI where new questions arise.
You will also work closely with the Head of Research and Development, and the Chief Technology Officer, to identify opportunities for improvement in UKFast’s data and reporting architecture, and will help drive initiatives to address these. This can include improving data definitions, the data warehouse architecture, and the data model for UKFast’s Salesforce instance.

What you will bring
At least 6 years of experience working with data in analytics-focused roles, and 3 years’ experience managing teams
The ability to lead a multidisciplinary team of data analysts, BI developers and data engineers to perform high quality work
The ability to partner with multiple stakeholders across the business to develop requirements and collaborate to deliver impactful reporting and insight
The ability to break down complex business decisions and questions into components and structure analyses to address them
A good understanding of working in an agile environment and how software development cycles work
An ownership mindset for UKFast’s broader data goals including data quality
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to engage with internal business and technical teams
Technical ability in analytical and visualisation tooling such as PowerBI, Salesforce, SQL, Excel
Technical literacy in data engineering and architecture concepts (e.g. databases, warehousing, pipelining, quality), with skills in engineering data pipelines as a strong advantage
[Optional] Experience working in the IT infrastructure industry (or a good understanding of the domain) is a strong advantage
What you will do
Act as the team lead for the Data & Insights team within UKFast, running the team’s Agile ceremonies and acting as the coordinating single point of contact for receiving and coordinating MI / analytics requests
Support ongoing learning & development of the team and work closely with recruiting to bring in new talent
Provide vision, leadership, subject matter depth and execution strength to maintain and deliver the portfolio of MI which drives UKFast’s decision-making and steering processes; continuously improve dashboards in Salesforce and PowerBI, with a strong bias for automation, simplification and streamlining.
Engage in and manage strategic initiatives regarding UKFast’s data estate and drive a culture of continuous improvement across UKFast’s data and reporting architecture, including data definitions, the data warehouse, Salesforce data model and automated MI
Mentor and manage (via pairing and/or hands-on work) developers to produce high quality MI and data pipelines, leveraging your own technical knowledge
Engage with your peers across data, technology/R&D and finance teams to both learn and assist others
