The Challenge 

UKFast is looking for an exceptional content marketing professional to help define, develop and execute an outcomes-based content strategy.  Reporting into the CMO, the Head of Content Marketing will play a major role in taking UKFast on an exciting business transformational journey. 

The marketing team is well positioned to significantly contribute to the company’s next phase of growth. Our ultimate success as a business (and marketing team) depends on the development of high-quality content that resonates with our target audience & identified personas - driving engagement and action.  

Our content strategy will form the foundation of our marketing plan and will directly influence and impact our brand strategy, demand generation and customer retention campaigns, our performance marketing and our company website.  This role will act as the glue across these disciplines, ensuring that we drive a consistent, compelling message to our target audiences and one that helps differentiate UKFast from the competition. 

You will lead a team of design and content professionals with scope to further develop this critical function.  You and your team will lead all aspects of content creation across the company, partnering with commercial, technical and product teams to continually assess and raise the bar in terms of content quality. 

It will be important that you leverage data and insight to inform your strategy ensuring that we are delivering the right message to the right audience at the right time.  You will be naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand content metrics and performance, adjusting your plan as required for maximum impact.

What you will do 

  • Own the development and execution of a companywide content marketing strategy that shifts brand perception and generates demand for UKFast products & services
  • Build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of copywriters, brand, and communications specialists
  • Ensure that our content strategy maps to the full customer journey, from first click through to customer retention
  • Ensure that our content is feeding our marketing funnel and driving engagement across multiple channels, driving impact and commercial outcomes
  • Work cross-functionally, aligning with the needs of our key stakeholders in Product, Technical and Commercial teams
  • Ensure the tight co-ordination of our content strategy across the key marketing disciplines of Brand, Campaigns, Performance Marketing and Web
  • Continually track and measure the impact of our content adjusting the plan as required 

What you will bring 

  • At least 6-8 years of experience developing and executing a world class content marketing strategy – ideally in the B2B space
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in motivating and developing high performing teams
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to translate data and insight into content marketing strategy and direction
  • A fail fast mentality and the ability to test, learn, iterate and adjust a marketing strategy
  • An outcomes focus – tying marketing execution into business outcomes
  • A customer obsession - diving into understanding pain points and turning that understanding into actionable content, putting the customer at the centre of our marketing and content strategy
  • The ability to co-ordinate and lead cross-functional teams for maximum benefit
  • A deep understanding of the need to develop differentiated content for individual channels e.g. web, long form, short form, video, social, PPC etc.
  • Experience managing marketing agencies and third parties, developing a strong partnership model/approach
