Telegraph Media Group has announced today that it plans tois to fold its standalone digital operation.
The project was originally set up to take advantage of new revenue streams, and feed profits straight back into its head office, according to reports.
The digital division was originally set up by the publishing giant under editor-in-chief and managing director Will Lewis at the end of 2009.
However, a sudden departure from Lewis last month has led to the end of the digital development unit.
Lewis's departure is widely attributed to a disagreement with chief executive Murdoch MacLennan over the planned direction for the company.
