According to research by recruitment firm Monster.co.uk, most IT professionals are unhappy in their current roles and are thinking of changing jobs.
The study found that only 30 per cent of the 228 UK IT staff surveyed are satisfied with their current employment, with 92 per cent of these people considering a change.
At UKFast we are proud to buck this trend.
Despite being a new entrant to the latest Great Places to Work list featured in the Financial Times, UKFast topped the most fun and friendly workplace category and achieved fifth place in the best for learning and development section of the survey for 2010.
Managing director of UKFast, Lawrence Jones says, "We have been fortunate enough to win praise over the years for a variety of disciplines, however this accolade reminds me why I get up every morning. To be recognised as the most 'fun and friendly' place out of all UK businesses is a real honour or a very big mistake!"
Jones continues: "The relationship between employee well-being and productivity is vitally important and I think that many small and medium-sized businesses need assistance now more than ever before."
Monster's research also shows that the number of IT industry job opportunities has increased more than any other UK sector year-on-year.
Isabelle Ratinaud, a spokesperson from Monster UK commented: "Taking into account the recent announcements of a contraction in the UK economy, it's encouraging to see this increase in job opportunities."
"IT has led all sectors in terms of annual growth, exhibiting a 34 per cent increase. This is a strong recovery for the sector, which suffered a large dip in jobs throughout the recession," she added.
