Storage vendor Luminex has expanded its UK-wide reseller agreement with systems integrator Shoden Data Systems to include the rest of Europe.
The vendor said it has tasked Shoden with marketing its flagship virtual tape library product Channel Gateway across the region because of the success it has had with the product in the UK.
The product features a mainframe deduplication platform, which allows users to reduce the amount of physical tape needed to store their data.
Arthur Tolsma, chief executive at Luminex, said: "Shoden has a deep understanding of the mainframe data centres and how their storage administrators struggle to meet [their] business requirements with physical mainframe tapes," he said.
"By using our Channel Gateway products, Shoden can help customers improve their operational and disaster recovery capabilities while saving power, floor space, and costs."
John Taffinder, chief executive of Shoden, said the expansion of its partnership with the vendor would help his firm ramp up its coverage within the European market.
"The Luminex Channel Gateway has great potential and with no other vendor offering a competitive solution, we are looking forward to rapidly growing our market share across Europe," he said.
