Accenture Signs Deal With Electrolux

Electrolux has signed a large deal for application development and management, with supplier Accenture.

The washing machine, oven and vacuum cleaner manufacturer said the deal covers systems for its 51,000 staff, including those at its UK head office in Luton. But the value and length of the deal has not been confirmed.

Electrolux already works with Accenture for SAP application deployment, under a deal signed in 2008.

Under the new deal, Accenture will manage the white goods manufacturing giant's software applications, which include JD Edwards, Cognos, and Lotus Notes. A centralised delivery model would be used, it said, as part of an ongoing transformation programme aimed at cutting costs and improving processes.

The work will be delivered from Accenture offices in Hyderabad, India, with some local service management in Sweden, Germany, the US, Brazil, Thailand, Australia and China.

Bertil Norberg, chief information officer at Electrolux said the decision to outsource development and support "will ensure the availability of skills and resources to fulfill future delivery requirements".

In February, the company signed a five-year IT infrastructure management deal with Indian outsourcer HCL, covering the Asia-Pacific region.
