BT has announced that Unilever has decided to extend its €1bn outsourcing deal with BT Global Services with a refreshed contract worth an extra €173m (£144m).
This new deal will see BT provide Unilever with variouis services over the next four years, including: unified communications, messaging, supply chain, wireless technology and agile working in over 100 countries.
The original €1bn contract announced in November 2002 was the first global telecommunications outsource contract undertaken by BT and is still one of the world's largest telecommunications outsourcing deals. This original deal acted as a kick-start to the BT Global Services.
This latest deal is set to include the design, management and operation of a secure, fully-integrated end-to-end IT networking infrastructure.
It will cover an ever more integrated platform in order to deliver data, voice, video and mobility services to around 1,000 websites and will also help Unilever deliver new supply chain applications.
