At UKFast, we’re incredibly passionate about giving back to our local communities and helping those in need. That’s why we’re asking you to help us combat holiday hunger this summer by filling the food banks in Manchester and across the UK.
Over the summer holidays, as school-funded breakfast clubs and lunches are no longer available, children in need of essential nutrition are missing out. To add to this issue, now is the time of year when food bank stocks dry up, quickly turning the situation into a crisis for millions of families across the UK.
In 2018 alone, a record 1.6 million emergency food parcels were provided by the Trussell Trust food bank, with more than 500,000 of them given to children. It’s a hard statistic to face. But, despite the fact that the UK is one of the richest countries in the world, millions of people rely on food banks every single day to feed their families.
The number-one mission is to ensure the shelves of food banks are stocked and ready to go this summer. We need you to collect non-perishable items and donate to a drop-off point near you.
Items to donate:
For the average person, these items are a small ask. But for families in desperate need, they are the difference between eating and going hungry for another day.
If you’re in Greater Manchester, drop off your donations today at UKFast Campus in Birley Fields, Hulme. Or simply go to the Trussell Trust’s ‘Find a Food Bank’ page, enter your postcode and donate to your nearest foodbank.
Let’s make sure that no child or family goes hungry this summer. Help us to fill the food banks and provide families with the help they so desperately need.
