The connection between sports and business success might not be immediately clear – in fact, for me, the best part about being in full-time work was not having to do PE at school any more – but there are actually some huge benefits to be gained from putting sport at the heart of your business. We were lucky enough to have former Olympian Diane Modahl at our UKFast running club recently and both she and fellow Olympian Bex Wilson have shared some of their thoughts on the matter.
Diane has gone from being a top-level athlete to being a successful businesswoman with the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF), and is passionate that if you put sport right at the heart of your business, you’ll inspire your team to pull together, feel better and ultimately work together.
Sport is something that’s at the heart of UKFast, and you can find members of the UKFast team running around like lunatics any day of the week (some of them run around the office all day too!), so it was a dream come true to have Diane and fellow Olympian Rebekah ‘Bex’ Wilson at our running club recently.
Here are their thoughts on why it’s so important to put sport at the heart of your business. Who knows, moving your team meeting to the gym could shake things up a bit (once the rest of the team has seen the light – and this video – at least!).
