Katherine, the newest member of our comms team tells us why she’s happy to have made the big move to Manchester….
For anyone who’s been feeling broke (and broken) following Christmas, January can be a bit of a mood killer. On top of that, I managed to move to Manchester on the 1st and I’m not going to lie, I was a little worried I’d be lost forever in a giant metaphorical (and literal) raincloud. I’m ashamed to say I assumed this would be a gloomy place, where people would offer me strange things like chips and gravy together, barms (that’s bread, to us southerners), and that I’d barely be able to understand a word anyone said to me. And yes, some of that has happened. But, having seen the work and the culture here, I’m happy to say that I was also wrong.
A place is made up of the people that live there, and from the lawyers and accountants, to the Manchester Camerata and sports centres, from the businesses and digital drivers, to the general public; they’re all happy to be here, and so am I.
So, as part of UKFast’s year of giving back, we’re giving back to our great city by showcasing the very best that it has to offer, and getting the city dancing. I hope this video brightens your day and spreads a little of our happiness. Enjoy it and share it with the world!
Now we want to know, where are you happy?
