Last week, Microsoft Exchange 2010 reached the RTM milestone. That being the release to manufacture of the new Exchange server product – in other words, they have finished writing the code for the product and have sent it out to be printed to CD’s and have packaging done.
Current expectations are that the product will be on shelves – so to speak – around October 22 when Windows 7 and 2008 R2 are planned to be officially launched.
If you’re keen to get your hands on the new Exchange before then, Microsoft are offering a free download to test out the new feature set. Exchange 2010 Release Candidate is currently available as a fully pre-configured virtual machine (you’ll need a box with Hyper-V installed to get it working).
