Server security audits - the proactive approach to hosting

In order to maintain the integrity of your dedicated server, minimise the risk of downtime and halt unauthorised access, UKFast offers a security audit service.

In addition to providing a complete security audit including port scan, internal scan and process checking; this proactive audit checks for software updates and patches as well as reviewing firewall policies.

Security audits cover:

Port Scan of 20,000-65,535 TCP ports
Vulnerability Tests for over 23,000+ security weaknesses
Mail Proxy Check to determine if SPAM is being sent from your server
Website Spidering analyses your website for Cross-Site-Scripting & HTML problems

The two levels of security audit:

1. Full Server Security Audit

Port scan: to probe any open ports, checking the services running. Recommendations for action will be made based upon services found.
Internal scan: to remove or quarantine any viruses, rootkits and spyware.
Process checking: to check for unwanted processes running. Those identified are isolated/disabled or, if necessary, the server can be completely rebuilt.
Patch updates: to check and install where necessary software updates and patches (not drivers).
Firewall review: to review firewall policies in the context of the servers use.

On completion of this audit you are provided with:

A full audit summary including a list of recommendations.
A detailed report of port scan results.

2. Lite Server Security Audit

You can choose to have Lite Security audit only, or once a Full Security Audit has been completed and your server has been given a clean bill of health, Lite Security Audits can be completed in the future at a reduced cost. These subsequent audits help to ensure your server remains healthy and secure.

The Lite Security Audit covers the following:

Port scan (as per full security audit)
Internal scan (as per full security audit)
