- Q. Is a DNS system provided as part of a CloudHosts solution?
SafeDNS is the domain name management facility included as standard with any CloudHosts solution. SafeDNS enables you to control what you host and where, with a user-friendly control panel.
Choose to host an unlimited number of branded domains, change MX, A-name and C-name records, carry out unlimited updates and much more. SafeDNS is designed to make DNS management simple.
- Q. What is the CloudHosts Cloud server maintenance schedule and are Patch Updates available?
The beauty of the CloudHosts Cloud is that scheduled maintenance has little or no effect on the workings of client solutions. However we guarantee you will be informed of any scheduled maintenance periods as a matter of course and with due warning.
We understand how vital security is to our CloudHosts clients. As part of our solution we include and manage patch updates as part of our service, in response to standard and out of band updates.
- Q. What hardware is used in the CloudHosts Cloud?
To ensure reliability and for your peace of mind, trustworthy big brand partner names including Dell and Cisco are used for CloudHosts infrastructure:
- Switches. Cisco Gig Network Switches
- Firewalls. Cisco ASA 5500 series Firewalls
- Servers. Dell's new R Enterprise Series Servers
- SANs. Dell EqualLogic SANs.
- Q. How scalable are CloudHosts solutions?
Scalability is a priority in CloudHosts solution design. The inherent business continuity capabilities of cloud mean that scaling a solution at any review point is straightforward and will not impact on the operation of your solution.
- Q. What are the network provisions for the data centres in which the CloudHosts Cloud resides? Who are the network carriers?
UKFast, with whom CloudHosts partner to provide the fastest network in the UK, aggregates bandwidth from the multiple tier 1 bandwidth providers. This guarantees our ability to offer 100% Network Uptime.
- Q. Privileged User Access; who are the CloudHosts Cloud Administrators, how are they hired, security checked and controlled?
The CloudHosts Cloud Administrator Team is made up of specialists in Cisco Systems, Dell Hardware and MS Software and all are suitably and officially accredited. They work and report directly to the Director of CloudHosts Operations, who in turn works closely with the Director of UKFast Cloud Operations (allowing for the sharing of best practice information). All CloudHosts engineers and employees dealing with any client information are CRB 'checked' and routinely security assessed.
- Q. How would a client set about up-scaling or down-scaling their CloudHosts solution?
All revisions to clients' solutions should be processed via the Sales Team at CloudHosts in the first instance.
