UKFast to sponsor Britain's fastest bikes

Article date: Fri, 20 Jan 2006 15:07 GMT

Gregorio Lavilla - 2005 British Superbike ChampionThe UK's fastest growing Internet Service Provider UKFast is celebrating a sponsorship deal with Airwaves Ducati that adds the British Superbike Champions to its portfolio of sporting affiliations. The decision to sponsor the BSB team came after Managing Director Lawrence Jones visited Oulton Park in the closing stages of the 2005 championship. "I was particularly impressed by the drive and professionalism of not just the riders, but the entire team. Passion is tremendously important in business and sport and Airwaves Ducati demonstrate this on and off the track." The two winning teams announced a partnership on the Internet last year, with UKFast winning the contract to design and host the high profile Superbike website. During the development of the new Airwaves Ducati site, Jones began talks to play an even more prominent role in the racing team's future. "It was inevitable," says Jones. "The collaboration creates a perfect synergy for us. Speed, reliability and the drive to succeed are qualities we have in common. They're reasons why we are both competing at the top of our fields and winning." "We are delighted UKFast will increase their involvement by becoming an official partner to Airwaves Ducati," says Team Manager Colin Wright, who enthuses about the relationship. "The addition of UKFast, an award winning ISP, is truly enhancing our off track performance." UKFast is not new to sports partnerships, having been an official sponsor of the Sale Sharks and Charlie Hodgson as an individual player since 2001. The decision to take on a second sponsorship deal comes on the back of UKFast's most successful year to date, with company growth of 62% in 2005.
