Leading UK web hosting company UKFast is sponsoring the Sales Sharks rugby team in this weekend's Manchester to Blackpool charity ride in aid of Christie's.
As a proud Manchester-based firm, UKFast is committed to supporting local causes and backing Sale Sharks players as they ride for Christie's is right at the core of this commitment.
UKFast, the UK's fastest web hosting provider, will be sponsoring all of the Sharks players that are taking part in the charity ride on July 13, 2008. These include: Mark Cueto, Luke McAlister, Jason White, Dwayne Peel, Lee Thomas, Dean Schofield and Rory Lamont. The UKFast logo, which already adorns the Sale Sharks rugby jersey on match days, will be displayed on the Sharks players' cycle shirts for the event.
"At UKFast we are passionate about both sport and supporting our local community. So, naturally we were delighted to get onboard with our partners at Sale Sharks to support this fantastic event," UKFast MD Lawrence Jones commented. "It will be great to see the Sharks boys out on their bikes and we hope that everyone taking part has a great day."
Nathan Bombrys, commercial and marketing director for Sale Sharks, added, "We're very grateful for UKFast for their long-standing support of the club, and it's great to work together in aid of Christie's. The cycle ride will help the team to continue their pre-season preparations to challenge for Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup honours, whilst supporting such a worthwhile cause."
The famous annual charity bike ride in aid of Christie's covers 60 miles from the centre of Manchester to the iconic Promenade on Blackpool front. Every year thousands take part to raise money, complete the challenge and to enjoy some of the North West's most picturesque scenery.
The proceeds from the charity ride will go to support the excellent work that Christie's is continuing to do in the battle against cancer. At the Christie Hospital in Manchester, the largest single site cancer research and treatment centre in Europe, funds are invested into looking for new ways to diagnose, treat and cure cancer.
And every year advances are made thanks to work done by the Christie's staff and all the fund-raisers. So a big well done to everyone involved.
