With the sponsorship backing of leading UK hosting firm UKFast, Sale Sharks players successfully completed the Christie's Manchester to Blackpool charity bike race at the weekend. In reaching the finish line of the 60 mile course, the professional rugby players joined a host of other fantastic volunteers in raising thousands for the charity.
UKFast, the UK's fastest web hosting provider, extended its usual match-day sponsorship of the Shark's to provide backing to Mark Cueto, Luke McAlister, Jason White, Dwayne Peel, Lee Thomas, Dean Schofield and Rory Lamont, amongst others.
Riding with the benefit of a beautiful sunny day, the dedicated Sharks players were among over 6,000 fundraisers to cross the finish line on the famous Blackpool Promenade on Sunday.
According to Christie's, last year's event raised over £200,000 and early indications are that even more will be raised this year.
Manchester-based UKFast was delighted to expand its long sponsorship association with Sale Sharks to help them raise money for Christie's. Commenting after the race, UKFast MD Lawrence Jones said, "We were thrilled to provide financial backing for our partners at Sale Sharks and it is fantastic that so much has been raised for such a great cause.
"Well done to everyone who took part and to Christie's for all the superb work they do."
