Article date: Wed, 10 Nov 2004 00:00 GMT

Designed in-house as part of their four-year sponsorship deal with the Edgeley Park Rugby club, Manchester-based Internet Service Provider UKFast has released the official website of the Sale Sharks to a rapturous audience.

Launched in September the website is now drawing around 100,000 visitors per week. As official web site provider to the Sale Sharks, the ISP is responsible for hosting, developing and designing the club's online presence as well as handling all e-mail services.

Currently in second place in the Zurich Premiership league table, the launch of the Sale Shark web site by UKFast comes at an exciting time for the club. It coincides with the appointment of new French coach Phillippe Saint-Andre who is proving to be the right man to motivate players and attract new visitors to the Stockport stadium.

Charlie Hodgson, Sale Sharks fly half and International England player says: “This is a very exciting time for the club as well as the fans. With a new manager on board and our official web site in full flow, we are heading into a new direction. The design of our own official site by UKFast has given us the opportunity to get closer to our fans.”

Nathan Bombrys, Marketing Manager for Sale Sharks says: “The development of the web site by UKFast has greatly boosted our online profile. We are now able to offer competitions, corporate hospitality reservations online and generally be more interactive. I think the creative team did a great job. Being present on the web has helped our business grow and also facilitates our ticket sales.”

Managing Director Lawrence Jones of UKFast says: “I have always been involved with Rugby and love the sport. By sponsoring the team and providing them with a highly efficient web site, not only are we helping to promote the club's web presence but we are also enhancing our own profile. In today's world, it is unthinkable not to have a website, it is the first business-to-customer contact and gives creates an initial impression in the eyes of potential clients. Our job is to make a great visual impact.”

In recent months, UKFast's copy and design team have build up a substantial portfolio of clients, providing web design services to the Australian High Commission, Pavilion Central, the Birmingham shopping complex, Cardiff's Millenium Plaza and Gerard's Ice Cream in Manchester.
