UKFast would like to congratulate Philippe Saint Andre and the Sale Sharks on their European Challenge Cup Victory. We are especially pleased that our very own Charlie Hodgson played a major part in the victory and was named ERC Man of the Match.
The team played a blinder in Oxford on Saturday to beat Section Paloise 27-3. This is the second time in 3 years that the Sharks have lifted the trophy. Saint Andre was delighted with the win.
"We set targets to secure a place in next season's Heineken Cup and to win the Challenge Cup. It's wonderful to achieve both. It's been a fantastic day," he said.
New Zealand-bound fly half Charlie revealed that he was now looking forward to the Lions challenge 'Down Under'. "There's a lot of talk about Stephen Jones and Jonny Wilkinson being first-choice fly halves. Hopefully, I can have something to say about that," he commented.
UKFast also takes this opportunity to say a big thank you and goodbye to Bryan Redpath who has been with the club as long as UKFast have been an official sponsor.
Retiring scrum half Bryan said he expected to have a "wee tear in the eye" when he had "a quiet five minutes in the dressing room. This is the perfect way to finish, and I couldn't have asked for more. I've had five great years at Sale Sharks, and would like to thank everyone involved with the club, from the owner right through to the fans."
