UKFast service praised as firm scoops coveted cloud award

Team UKFast at the CRN Awards

Manchester cloud and dedicated hosting provider UKFast has been honoured at the Channel Reseller News (CRN) Awards, scooping the Cloud Service Provider of the Year Award at a glittering ceremony in London last week.

UKFast picked up the award in a competitive category, after holding off competition from the likes of Cloud Direct, Olive Communications and fellow Manchester cloud provider ANS Group.

The panel of expert judges commended UKFast for its superb customer support and an excellent all-round value proposition.

UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones said: “This is an incredible recognition of the work the entire UKFast team has done in recent years. What is great about this particular award is that it recognises the service we provide and the quality of our technology equally. Without great service, great technology never reaches its full potential.

“We’ve been working hard for a long time to create a British cloud alternative to the big American vendors. Our eCloud range, which was launched in 2013, is completely home-grown – designed, built and supported by our incredible team.”

Cloud services now account for 32.5% of overall revenue at the fast-growing firm, which has recently added open source development product eCloud Flex and virtual desktop offering FASTdesk to its portfolio. Both have been well received by the marketplace, with FASTdesk receiving recognition from the Datacentre Dynamics awards.

Jones continued: “The CRN awards are well recognised and entered by the biggest names in the technology industry. We’ve been shortlisted a number of times but came up short. We’ve had our heads down for the last few years, working hard and looking into the innovation side of things and building products for our customers that separate us from the crowd.”

The hosting and cloud provider saw turnover grow to £34.3 million in 2015, with an EBITDA of £15.79 million.
