Manchester hosting company UKFast is expanding its office HQ in City Tower to develop a training academy and potential squash court 400 ft above ground.
The £20 million turnover company is taking an additional 4,000 sq feet on the 16th floor of the prestigious office building, increasing its total floor space in Piccadilly Plaza to more than 12,000 sq feet.
UKFast already occupies the 28th floor of City Tower - the highest commercial office space in Manchester. The expansion coincides with the company's recruitment drive that will see 100 people joining the team in 2012.
The 16th floor is to be home to the UKFast Academy - a training ground designed to nurture new recruits before they 'graduate' to the established sales and account management teams on the top floor.
UKFast CEO, Lawrence Jones, says: "We moved to City Tower in 2007 and we've designed an office environment that is unrivalled in Manchester but we're growing fast and we need more suitable space to inspire and develop the people who are joining our team.
"The Academy provides a friendly and challenging environment for new starters to learn the ropes and get bespoke training in our unique customer service and support techniques so that they can hit the ground running when they graduate. We want to implement progression paths for everyone in the business and the Academy is the ideal starting point to do this."
UKFast's 160-strong team will benefit from a refurbishment across both floors that will include the development of a gym, shower facilities and dedicated film room.
