Timpson and BBC chief to Inspire Manchester

Article date: Mon, 23 Nov 2015 11:25 GMT

Inspire MCRInspire Manchester - the most inspirational business event in the city - is set to return, celebrating entrepreneurial spirit and lifting the lid on the secrets behind spectacular business success. The event, to be held on the 26th November at UKFast Campus, features a line-up including Timpson chief executive, James Timpson and BBC Radio 5 live controller, Jonathan Wall. James Timpson leads his family's retail business which is headquartered in Manchester and employs over 3500 people and trades from 1400 shops across the country. Jonathan Wall is responsible for the editorial content, leadership and overall management of national station BBC Radio 5 live. The speakers will be sharing their knowledge about what it takes to succeed in business, how to build an amazing team and the importance of creating a strong culture within an organisation. Founder and CEO of host UKFast, Lawrence Jones, will also give a talk on the night. Jones said: "It's great to have James and Jonathan on board for the latest Inspire event. The Timpsons were among the pioneers of upside-down management. Anyone attending Inspire will be amazed to learn about how empowering your team at the coalface can have amazing benefits for your business. "To bring Jonathan Wall in from the BBC will bring a new dimension to this Inspire Manchester. He brings with him huge leadership experience and has a track record of getting the best out of the team at 5 live." The inaugural Inspire event in June this year saw UKFast CEO, Lawrence Jones MBE, deliver a well-received keynote speech about the importance of goal-setting in business and in life, alongside Brother UK MD Phil Jones, and Approved Food's Dan Cluderay. Jones said: "The feedback we received from the first event was amazingly positive - we have heard several stories of budding entrepreneurs who picked up advice at the event that have led them to make complete changes within their businesses. We have been working to fine-tune the event to make it even better. "There are so many growing businesses in the UK right now that are looking to collaborate and learn from each other and Inspire is proving to be the platform for just that." Inspire Manchester runs from 5pm to 8pm on 26th November at hosting firm UKFast's Birley Field Campus. Those wishing to register their interest can visit the events section of the UKFast website.
