Registrations are open for eCommerce Live - a Manchester event to bring the online retail industry together outside of London.
The conference, launching in Manchester on 23rd September, aims to help online firms in the UK enjoy the same success as their American counterparts during the Christmas rush.
A 250-strong audience at eCommerce Live - held at UKFast Campus near Manchester Science Park - will learn from the country's biggest online success stories about how to prepare for Cyber Monday and Black Friday - two American traditions fast-becoming UK trends. Attendees will also be offered the opportunity to discuss the key issues face-to-face with the experts in a number of 'breakout clinics'.
The average online spend in the UK in 2014 was £718 million per week, rising to £763 million per week through November as people prepare for Christmas. eCommerce Live is scheduled to give retailers the time to implement changes and improvements before the festive spike in online shopping.
Talks and clinics are set to focus on the issues of speed and uptime, user experience, personalisation and security to prep online businesses for peak periods. The panel will outline why these four factors are crucial pillars of any eCommerce business and providing practical, usable take aways for those wishing to touch up their site's performance.
As founder and CEO of event sponsor, UKFast, Lawrence Jones MBE has spent fifteen years looking after the internet fortunes of some of the world's biggest brands such as Kellogg's, Virgin and TJ Hughes.
The entrepreneur said: "It is incredibly important for businesses to appreciate the importance of speed when it comes to eCommerce. The stats tell the story; if your site is slow, people abandon purchases, and it also counts against you in your search rankings, making you less visible. Since day one at UKFast, we've learned the importance of speed in eCommerce - from fast websites to fast delivery.
"We're running eCommerce Live to make the online retail sector bigger and stronger in the long-term by opening up channels of collaboration and helping growing businesses learn from each other."
UKFast is no stranger to throwing packed-out industry events, having hosted hundreds of business people at InspireMCR earlier this year, and welcomed a group of experts to discuss opportunities in mobile connectivity at Mobile Monday Manchester. UKFast also hosts regular IoD events in its auditorium.
eCommerce Live runs from 2PM to 6PM on 23rd September. Those wishing to register their interest can visit the UKFast website.
