Five star website for scanner appeal
Article date: Mon, 06 Jul 2009 15:22 GMTHosting provider, UKFast, has launched the new Five Stars Scanner Appeal website to help build the charity's online presence. The Five Stars Appeal needs to raise £250,000 by the end of 2009. The Five Stars Appeal has been raising money for 30 years for essential equipment and refurbishment at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Currently the team is raising money for a new children's MRI scanner which will help save many young lives. UKFast has long been involved with the charity but stepped up to offer its services to further promote it online. Managing director of UKFast, Lawrence Jones, said: "As a Manchester business it is UKFast's responsibility to help the local community. I can't imagine being faced with the situation some of these children have to go through and the Five Stars Appeal aims to give them the equipment they deserve to help them in their fight. We're delighted that we're so well placed to help raise their profile online and aid them in their quest to raise cash." Five Stars' Nicola Smith said: "We're very grateful for the website UKFast has built and donated, as well as the support they've shown. A website is a must for organisations nowadays because it's often the first port of call to find out further information. We're very pleased with the new design and usability of the site - it will go a long way towards building our support-base and raising more money for our cause." In the past UKFast has supported the Five Stars Scanner Appeal by attending dinners and bidding in auctions. Having given thousands of pounds to the charity they've come away with the signed boxing shorts of legends, Mohammed Ali and Manchester's own Ricky Hatton. UKFast supports a range of charities including Wear It Pink and Comic Relief. The team has previously built a website for Factor 50, a skin cancer charity.
