Aint no mountain high enough

Article date: Thu, 27 May 2004 00:00 GMT

At least not for the UKFast Mountaineering Team! And just to prove the point, this weekend saw Lawrence Jones (Managing Director) and Richard Salisbury (Head of Graphics) kicking off the gruelling training regime for what is shaping up to be their biggest undertaking yet - the Three Peak Challenge.

The Three Peaks Challenge consists of a twenty-seven mile (43k) walk over the three highest peaks in England (Scafell - 978m), Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1344m) and Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) - that's a total ascent of over 3407 metres.

As if this wasn't a big enough task on its own, walkers are challenged to finish the marathon within 36 hours - a respectable achievement for the keenest of walkers. (Let alone Lawrence and Rich).

With their deadline of August 24-26 looming, the pressure is on.

Are they up to it?

Only time will tell.

Log on next month to follow their progress.

Oh and boys, good luck!
