The Tale of the Cities report
The Tale of the Cities is a report commissioned by the British Chamber's of Commerce that looks at the contribution city regions make to the UK economy. Taking England's major regional centres along with Cardiff and Edinburgh the report delivers recommendations on key issues and this Manchester launch focuses in on our city region.
The launch took place on Monday 10th September and was chaired by Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of the GM Chamber of Commerce. Guest speakers were David Frost. Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, Graeme Stringer, MP for Blakely and Keith Johnston, Chamber President and Partner at Addleshaw Goddard.

0.42- 2.57- Angie Robinson opens the event introducing the Manchester City Region and the Tales of the Cities report.
2.57 - 07.48- David Frost sums up the key messages from the report and looks at Manchester and those recommendations that most relate to the region.
07.48 - 12.45 - Graeme Stringer talks about Manchester and its history for regeneration while looking at the government structure for funding regions and delivering decisions that slow down the growth of strong city regions.
12.45 - 18.15 - Keith Johnston - remembers the day the Manchester bomb devastated his office and looks at the challenges Manchester has faced and continues to face in becoming not only the UK's second city but a driving force in Europe as well.
18.15 - 19.42 - Opinions from local business include comments from the City Council, the Core Cities Group and Be resources.
