Manchester's Building and Development Review 2007

The Buildings and Development section of the Chamber is one of the sector's largest pressure groups outside of London. This month's Chamber Podcast comes from the group's Annual Review of the property sector, which took place at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on 20 November.

John Walding, PR Manager for the Chamber went along to get the highlights. The seminar is presented by chair of the section Phil Cusack and the three speakers for the afternoon are Ken Bishop, director of DTZ, David Leather from GMPTE and Janet Dunnett, the chief executive of The Piccadilly Partnership.

3:10 - 3:47 - Phil Cusack introduces the seminar and its three speakers.

3:47 - 16:30 - Ken Bishop gives us an overview of the buildings and development sector looking at Industry, through Retail and Residential to the City. With a major focus on the City Centre itself, Ken also discusses the credit crunch and its effect on the sector.

16:30 - 23:32 - David Leather outlines the Transport Innovation Fund bid that Greater Manchester has put in to central govenment, including the proposal for a congestion charge in Manchester.

23:32 - 29:15 - Janet Dunnett reveals the ways that The Piccadilly Partnership has managed to transform this area of central Manchester which is now a vibrant and competitive city sector.

29:15 - 29:39 - John Walding signs off for the month.
