UKFast sponsor ISPA (the Internet Services Providers' Association), the UK's Trade Association for providers of Internet services.

ISPA was established in 1995 and promotes competition, self-regulation and the development of the Internet industry. UKFast is committed to developing the Internet in the UK to the highest standards, sponsorship of the ISPA helps to achieve this because ISPA set the benchmark for Internet working practises in the UK.

This year UKFast won the 2008 ISPA award in the dedicated hosting category. We are proud to have won best hosting awards for the last four years running.

Sponsorship of the ISPAs Internet Hero Award

UKFast sponsored the 2007 & 2008 Internet Hero Award within the ISPAs - the Internet industry awards. These awards are unique as they are awarded to people and organisations in the industry by their peers and reflect the broad nature of the service provider sector.

The Internet Hero Award recognises the person or organisation that deserves a pat on the back for a job well done in promoting, developing, or defending the interests of the Internet industry in the year gone by.

"For respecting peoples' browsing privacy by retracting the Beacon service, a system which automatically records user's online spending habits, by making it an opt-in not opt-out service."

• Financial Services Authority (FSA)

"For keeping a keen eye on the promotional websites of financial services and warning that they are not fair or clear enough. A quarter of 77 sites reviewed "failed to present information in a fair, clear and not misleading way", the FSA said."

• The Rt. Hon. Stephen Timms MP, Minister of State for Competitiveness

"For leading the push to increase Internet access speeds, paving the way for services such as high-definition Internet TV.">

2007 Internet Hero winner

On Thursday February 15 at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, Annie Mullins of Vodafone was awarded the 2007 Internet Hero award.
